SHAEIRAT (شاعرات / shaeirat = poetesses) ) is a collective art project seeking to produce and stage Arab poetry performances by poetesses and poets themselves in the Arab world and globally.  In addition to mixing the poetesses and poets stage presence and voices with other mediums (music, theatre, video...), SHAEIRAT intends to present performances bilingually.

SHAEIRAT was inaugurated at Festival d’Avignon 2022  (in) with a program of 4 performances by Soukaina Habiballah, Rasha Omran, Carol Sansour and Asmaa Azaizeh, in collaboration with Henri jules Julien.

2023-2024 : European tours (France, Switzerland, Scotland)

 

Nov.-Dec. 2023 : 1st SHAEIRAT Biennial in Egypt and Morocco.

​

SHAEIRAT regularly invites new poets to work with international artists and musicians to create their own performance based on their own poem.
