SHAEIRAT ( (شاعرات / shaeirat = poetesses) ) is a collective international art project seeking to  produce and stage performances of Arabic poetry by the poetesses themselves, in the Arab world and globally.

 

In addition to mixing the poetesses and poets stage presence and voices with other mediums (music, theatre, video...), SHAEIRAT intends to present performances bilingually : : Arabic/English, Arabic/French, Arabic/Spanish, Arabic/Dutch...

SHAEIRAT was inaugurated at Festival d’Avignon 2022 In with a program of 4 performances and has since toured extensively, creating events in Egypt, France, Morocco, Scotland and Switzerland.

SHAEIRAT regularly invites new poets to work with international artists and musicians to create their own performance based on their own poem.
