SHAEIRAT ( (شاعرات / shaeirat = poetesses) ) is a collective international platform that produces and stages Arabic poetry performances by the poetesses themselves, in the Arab world and around the world.  

 

In addition to mixing the poetesses' stage presence and voices with other media (music, theater, video...), SHAEIRAT offers bilingual performances: Arabic/Spanish, Arabic/Dutch, Arabic/French, Arabic/English, Arabic/Chinese...

 

SHAEIRAT was inaugurated at the Festival d'Avignon 2022 In with a program of 4 performances, and has since toured extensively in Scotland, Egypt, France, Morocco and Switzerland.

 

SHAEIRAT regularly invites new poets to create, with international artists and musicians, their own performance based on their own poem.

 

At the same time, SHAEIRAT initiates and maintains an intense activity of translation and publication of Arabic poets whose works have been translated via the platform into English, Spanish, French, Dutch, Lithuanian, Chinese, Norwegian.

SHAEIRAT invents new modalities of public presentation of poetry: Echo Chambers at La Bâtie Festival Geneva ; Poetic Labyrinth in Casablanca…
